Knitklips.com I used the fabulous Knit Klips for the first time and was amazed at how good they were. No
pins dropping on the floor or stabbing you in the finger. It was so quick to pin the sleeve -
literally a minute instead of the usual 5 or 10 then wondering if there are any stray pins lurking
around - which is not a good thing when you have a nosy fury creature around! So to anyone
wondering if they're worth getting, oh yes, they are an absolute must have. I got a pack of 10
and that seems to enough. Even DH was impressed with them.

What I used the Knit Klips on was York and I happily sewed a sleeve into the armhole quickly
and easily without worrying about those darn pins. The second sleeve has been knit klipped
all ready to go. I ended up using some 6 ply sock yarn doubled for sewing up. We all know not
to use Kureyon for sewing up unless we want to risk losing our sanity - or what we have left of
it anyway ;)

Knitklips.com Product Review - Knit Klips
One of the fabulous new products I scoped out at the recent Knit and Crochet Show in King of
Prussia, PA is called Knit Klips. I grabbed a bag at the show and just had the opportunity to use
them for the first time, and I am now a convert!

These clever pink plastic clips hold your knitted pieces together while you are seaming them
up. There is a long plastic prong between the two sides of the clip, which can slide through the
knitted stitches to hold the work together. They were so much easier to use than pins because
you can easily move them around, and there is no worry you will leave one in and forget about
it like you might with a straight pin! The length of the prong means you can hold together even
bulky knits, the sample in the photo above was a light worsted weight. Start at one end, and
pop the clips out as you go, then use them again to hold the next seam together.

Sold in packages of 5, 10 and 15, you can find them at your local yarn store, or at KnitKlips.com

Knitklips.com p.s Those new KnitKlips have been a great help to me with this project--the fabric I'm sewing is
(mostly) felted, and very thick. Pins would bunch it up, and be hard to get through the
fabric--but the clips hold things well, and align them perfectly--you can even set them up to use
on the right side of the garment for mattress stitch, but in this case, all my seams are on the
inside. Oh, and lest you wonder how they're different from any old spring-loaded clip, they
have one long tooth that can stick through just about any thickness of fabric and hold it in
place--also, they're designed not to catch or snag.

Knitklips.com I haven't knit anything that required seaming together in ages [I've been on a shawl/wrap kick],
so these little wonders sat unreviewed for more than a year. What a waste! They are
absolutely brilliant!

They're the simplest of devices, yet unequalled for seaming. A strong spring-loaded clip is
attached to a smooth [non-snagging!] post that goes through your knitted work to hold it in
place for seaming. Very cool for laying two right sides together and making sure they behave till
you've finished with the needle and yarn.

But even cooler? Try them for mattress stitching [see pic at left]. Things stay where you put
them, you can see what you're doing clearly, without obstruction, and seaming becomes, dare I
say it, fun! Buy the big packs. You'll want tons of these babies. Knit Klips are an essential,
affordable tool that every knitter should have in their accessory case.

Knit Klips holding the two halves together. I did all the sewing of the fish, while mom started
to crochet them together. She did rows 1 - 9 and I did 10 - 15. When it was all done, we put
the two halves together. I am TOTALLY in love with those Knit Klips. Very good choice of
gift sib!

The Klip Koncept
But now we have yet another device that, while it won't revolutionize the way we knit, will
definitely make seaming easier. It's called a Knit Klip.  Knit Klips operate like the popular
butterfly-style hair clips, only they're smaller and have a single spike instead of two meshing
combs. The spike meets a small hole on the other side of the clip, firmly securing whatever
it's holding.  Using Knit Klips is pretty intuitive. Simply line up the items to be seamed (front to
front, or back to back, whichever way the pattern suggests) and position the clamps evenly
along the area to be seamed.  Once you've secured the whole thing, you can go back and
fine-tune your alignment. If you really want to be precise, count and match the rows on each
side before placing a clip, so that the rows match perfectly.

At first glance, and when first starting to use these I wondered why, when dollar store
hair clips were available, would I buy these, but then the magic happened.

There’s only one spike, rather than several teeth meshing together. They’re big enough
to be easy to use and they hold fast even when trying on your garments. They don’t
snag on your knitting.

"This is a must-have product for your knitting tote.  Once you use Knit Klips you will wonder
how you ever did without them.  They are that good!  These little wonders are better than
pins for holding garment pieces together when you join the seams..."
